As a lifelong, die-hard Cubs fan the last week has been nothing short of catastrophic. They are sitting on the brink and I believe they are on life support at this point. Unless they reel off eight, nine or ten in a row I can’t see them doing anything other than finishing third or fourth in the division and can’t even contemplate a wildcard spot. I suppose the proverbial curse chants can start ringing down from on high.

Let’s be brutally honest, they can’t win with their ace on the mound, their hitting is horrendous and Corey Patterson is back in the lineup. Recipe for disaster. Oh and by the way, Kerry Wood is still sitting the bullpen.

The only good sign I saw today was Nomar hitting a homerun. This is more painful than 2003 I think…
