Wedding Party: Jenn Dubinsky

Jenn and Rachel first met in utero, as their parents were neighbors in an apartment complex in Indianapolis. Following their births, their moms created a ‘play group’ for themselves and their daughters. Soon after this, Jenn and her family moved to Louisville, Kentucky. Rachel remembers traveling to Louisville to visit Jenn and her family. Despite having to go to bed with the sun still shining brightly, Rachel fondly remembers spending time with Jenn as a child. Stuffing as many gumballs in each other’s mouths until neither could breathe, sneaking ‘pigs-in-a-blanket’ appetizers on New Years’ Eve, or swinging on the homemade swing in the backyard, Jenn and Rachel always managed to have fun.

Jenn and her family eventually moved back to Indianapolis. Jenn and Rachel continued their friendship through their junior high, high school, and college days. While their social circles differed during these years, their paths continued to cross. Rachel recalls ice-skating on Friday nights at the Carmel Ice-Stadium, the homecoming dance where Rachel went with Jenn’s friend Jeremy (yikes!), and engaging talks at Yogi’s in B-town over some locally brewed beers.

After both women completed their graduate degrees in other places, Philadelphia for Jenn and St. Louis for Rachel, they both decided to settle in the ‘Windy City’ of Chicago. Jenn and Rachel now live only minutes from each other and see each other quite often.

“Jenn is truly my oldest, dearest friend. She knows me inside and out. I can trust her with my deepest secrets. Our friendship strengthens with each new chapter of our lives. I am so excited for Jenn and her husband, Jason, as they prepare to welcome a new baby into their hearts and lives. I know our friendship will continue to thrive as our families grow. Jenn, I am so honored that you are a part of our wedding. You, my dear friend, represent my past. Thank you for continual friendship, honesty, and great cooking! I love you."
