Wedding Party: Regan Reidel

Regan and Rachel first met during their sophomore year at Indiana University. Their friendship began in Biology class. They happened to sit next to each other and soon found themselves walking or driving to class together. (They lived in the same apartment complex.) Shortly into the semester the two discovered that only one really needed to attend class to take notes, and in a pinch notes purchased from “The Note Network” would suffice.

Shortly after their meeting, their friendship progressed from “study buddies” into a deep, enduring friendship. At this point, Regan and Rachel decided to live together their senior year of college. Regan was planning her junior year abroad in London. During their junior year, Rachel and Regan remained in close contact despite the distance between Bloomington and Canterbury. Rachel visited Regan in London where the two had a smashingly brilliant time touring about. Upon Regan’s return stateside, they found themselves living in a “charming, vintage” apartment just off Kirkwood Street in B-town.

Rachel fondly remembers their engaging, thought-provoking conversations on the front porch, cooking dinner to Van Morrison, and watching "My Best Friend’s Wedding" close to 500 times. Not to mention, Rachel recalls one particular night in the spring of 1998 when Regan shared that the evening’s plans included going out with Regan’s good friend, Jason. Jason and his fraternity brother, J. D., arrived at the “charming, vintage “ apartment on Grant Street to socialize before partaking in a night of spirits and libations at The Upstairs Pub. Rachel had no idea that this cute frat boy in a navy-blue and white striped shirt would be her future husband!

Following graduation from Indiana University, both Regan and Rachel went on to see and experience the world. Regan accepted a position as a flight attendant for United Airlines. It was through this that she could pursue her lifelong dream of traveling and exploring new places and new cultures, all while getting paid. Rachel participated in Project Otzma, a volunteer program in Israel, for 10 months following graduation. With each new place and new chapter, Regan and Rachel continue to remain close. Regan currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts with her fiancé, Matt.

“Reg, you are one of my dearest friends. I cannot imagine my life without your friendship. You truly add so much sunshine and warmth to my life. I am deeply honored that you are a part of my wedding. This day would not be the same with out you. (Literally.) I love you.”
